Support for Government

The UK Centre for Mould Safety (UKCMS) supports government in understanding and addressing the risks of indoor microbial contamination. We advocate for stronger policies, clearer frameworks, and evidence-led decision making to protect public health. Our primary focus is informing improvements to Awaab's Law guidance to ensure it has a positive impact on society. 

Our work is grounded in the reality that poorly managed water damage and non-compliant remediation do not just affect individual homes. They drive up costs for the public purse, prolong housing disrepair, and place additional pressure on an already stretched housing system.

UKCMS provides independent expertise to ensure that responses to damp and mould are safe, effective, and aligned with public health outcomes. Our support includes:
